Participation and Progress

You'll be given a Participation and Progress grade at least four times during the quarter, and these will count as Classroom Grades.

Rubric

Outstanding 9-10

  • Student is on task over 90% of the time.
  • Very high degree of participation in discussion and collaboration. This includes asking for help when necessary and helping others when possible.
  • Excellent progress made on current project.
  • Student's communication with others contributes to a positive learning environment.

Proficient 8-9

  • Student is on task over 80% of the time.
  • Moderately high degree of participation in discussion and collaboration. This includes asking for help when necessary and helping others when possible.
  • More than sufficient progress made on current project.
  • Student's communication with others generally contributes to a positive learning environment.

Basic 7-8

  • Student is on task over 70% of the time.
  • Low to moderate degree of participation in discussion and collaboration. This includes asking for help when necessary and helping others when possible.
  • Minimally sufficient progress made on current project. Student may be falling behind on some project requirements.
  • Student's communication with others sometimes detracts from a positive learning environment.

Insufficient below 7

  • Student is on task less than 70% of the time.
  • Low degree of participation in discussion and collaboration. This includes asking for help when necessary and helping others when possible.
  • Insufficient progress made on current project. Student is falling behind on project requirements.
  • Student's communication with others often detracts from a positive learning environment and disrupts others from learning.
